Frequently Asked Questions

For Community Partners or Community Organizations

  • What is the best way to contact the Grow Program?

    • If you are interested in working with us, email us at or call us at 847-873-3028 to speak with a Grow Program team member.

    • If you are already in contact with one of the directors or a volunteer you can remain talking to them and get additional contact information if necessary.

  • What services do you offer for community programs?

    • We connect community centers to our extensive network of community partners to provide free and fresh produce

      • Feel free to contact us for a flyer or more information to share with other community centers!

    • Potentially provide fruits and vegetables at community events or classes provided we are contacted a month in advance and have the capacity to do so. We are always open to discussing possible partnerships, so do not hesitate to reach out to us!

    • Nutrition resources or special topics classes led by undergraduate students.

    • If you think you have a project for us that might fit our mission then please reach out!

  • What services can you NOT provide?

    • We are not able to deliver produce to individuals due to safety concerns for our volunteers.

    • Medical or dietary advice to community members. We are able to talk about the benefits of produce in the diet and other nutrition topics but are not qualified to give individual dietary advice beyond that.

  • Do we need to be located in a certain area to work with Grow Program?

    • While we do not specifically have a location range, we are limited in our transportation and time. We are based out of the University of Wisconsin campus, so locations far from there would be difficult for us to access and recruit volunteers.

  • What other services do you provide?

    • Recipes: To make recipes accessible to more of our population, we have teamed up with the UW Dietetic Interns to create photo-based recipes that can be used by community members without needing to know how to read or speak English.
